Hello. I am currently in college for a film degree taking acting classes for film acting and all that. I was wondering what you guys think. If I were to stream on twitch or make YouTube videos about video games. Playing them or researching them. Could it hurt my career as an actor? Assuming the twitch and YouTube chann…

It seems like the big movies involved washed up or B-list actors, by big I mean the ones LMN advertises for a week and premiere on a Friday. For everything else there are a bunch of people I've never heard of and they look like average people, some of whom I could probably act circles around. Even for a small part I fe…

I have not acted in about 4 years. The last time I acted was in College for several plays and since then the only performing I have done is professional wrestling. Now I want to get back into acting and have signed up for several auditions this week. I’m was wondering if you guys had any general tips for a guy trying t…

I’m currently filming a NU feature, and I found out that I am eligible to join the union through another project. What happens to the NU feature that I’m currently on if I decide to join? Also, I’m asked to do an ADR for another NU project, but they haven’t set the date for that. Am I allowed to do the ADR session if t…

I hope this discussion will be relevant to more than just me. I’ve been pretty down in the dumps lately and wanted to ask: How do you all keep from comparing yourself to huge actors? I find it impossible to stop myself from getting discouraged when I see actors my age and younger getting rave reviews on their work and…

I've been looking at getting into voice acting for a while now but haven't actually bought any equipment yet. With black Friday and cyber Monday approaching I figured it would be a good time to start buying some of the necessary equipment. What sort of equipment would you recommend I look at purchasing as a beginner vo…

I've always wanted to become an actor but, if I'm show being honest, for at least the last 13 years, I've never really pushed myself as hard as I should to become this. I'm 27 years old now (which I'm told is still pretty young) and throughout the last few months since june, I really have changed things round. Specific…

I'm sure all of us, at one time or another, have felt overwhelmed by the idea of performing or reading texts with historical language. Texts by playwrights like Shakespeare, Euripides, Congreve, and their contemporaries can seem like behemoths when you begin working on them. Their language can seem so unfamiliar and al…

Hi Voice Actors, I am currently working on a short film and I’m looking for a couple of voice over actors to read some lines for a pivotal scene. The dialogue would be similar to news alerts/broadcasters (similar to breaking news alerts). No preference between male or female, but would prefer someone with a British ac…

I’ve been noticing on a lot of the sites I go on for auditions the main demographic is mid to late 20’s onwards with the exception of the child age. Is that just how it is, or are there other resources out there specifically for the 18-20 spectrum? Thanks

How could pretending turn into something so far from reality? I love actors, this isn't hate. But how is something like this just accepted as a final production, does nobody care or is a lack of realism a style..? I'd give an example but I don't want to be rude, of course. I LOVE ACTORS PS: not talking about comedy or…

My wife is being cast as background on a show at a major studio. But sort of specific background. For some scripts, an actor/actress has to be very sensitive right? So would too much rehearsing desensitise them from the emotional impact of the scene. Reason I’m asking this is because the more we’re exposed to something, the less sensitive we become to it. For example, a sad scene in a movie is massively impactful t…

Kind of hard to explain unless you've ever seen a high school theatre production or have just been a self-aware kid actor, but something I've noticed in all of my school productions is that everyone sounds the same.
