Hey guys, I need an actor (one male, one female) to record sides for me, as auditions come in. Essentially, you will be my reader, as I play back your recording while I self tape my audition. I'll assume you have a decent mic. It has to be clear and clean, not just recorded on your phone. I can either pay you $10 per r…

I’m allergic to Instagram and hash tags. I’m male and tall, and that’s about it for my brand. I deactivated my Facebook a couple of months ago, and I feel way better. I respect people who can “brand” themselves well. It’s not my strength, and I just don’t care about presenting a false form of wealth and positivity that…

Can anyone just go to an audition they find online or on a flyer somewhere? Or does one need an agent in order to let the casting directors know that the actor will be there for an audition?

Been with SAG for two years. Never attended the new members orientation (wish there was notifications on the app!) and I’ve heard murmurings of the voice labs, free seminars, and actor business resources. Also, what discounts are we entitled too? Are there banking options for us in the union? How to take full advantage…

I (19 M) have always been under the impression that you can practice and get better at acting but you can't practice your emotions, but I recently got a role in a music video where the starting scene requires my character to walk on the street, look at a happy couple, remember my ex girlfriend and cry. I tried taking a…

I'm going for a theatre where the theme is that the acting couple will do exactly as the audience requests, but I'm not too sure what requests I should make, any ideas? This is description of the play. “You can see us but we cannot see you. You can tell us what to do. We will do it. Sing her a birthday song. Kick his b…

Chicago-based actor, mostly live performance/theatre/comedy, but some on-camera. I've been looking to eventually move to LA for a few years, and with the pandemic and live performance being shut-down in my current city for the foreseeable future, there's a part of me that's feeling pushed to move out west and take the…

Hey Everybody. I've directed a few plays in college, but that never felt *that* serious, but recently I wrote a script and I got funding to write and direct. Now, we're bringing in professional actors and I'm auditioning them. For some context, they sent us self-tapes, we witted it down to 3-5 people to audition over z…

I have always loved the idea of writing for television, and I've been writing "T.V shows" since I was young. I've taken classes and focused a lot of my amateur-age energy into honing my writing skills - and I am confident in my abilities. Still, for a long time, writing was a hobby. I knew my energy would be put into a…

Yesterday I recorded for a short project and am going to be able to be credited for my work in the manner I choose. It has a credits list, and I’m fortunate enough to have my name near the top. It’s a small project, but I got me thinking- how should I credit myself? The director said I could leave my name (or username,…

I don't know what my problem is. The context is a lot, and not very coherent. I'm in my last year of my acting BFA.
