My reason is :Immortality. I want something of me to exist a hundred years from now. "A Trip to the Moon" is 120 years old and it's neat to think that those actors are in in way still around after they have long passed. Look at the Barrymore family. I'd like my great great grandkids be able to see me. Actors never diss…

I have been trying to figure out why I've been annoyed with the influx of self tapes and headshots being posted outside of the threads, but I think I figured it out. I work really damn hard and the little self esteem that I do have goes to knowing that I'm a conscientious and driven actor. But I know I'm never really t…

Hello! I am beginning to dabble in Voice acting and am looking for a bit of advice. I currently have a Shure MV7 microphone running on XLR into a Universal Audio Bolt1 interface. It’s a dynamic cardioid. I have been looking into condensers because i’ve heard they’re really good for voice acting and the hit i’ve messed…

So I’m posting this here because it’s a community of actors. I’m 99% certain you can understand. I’m currently working two survival jobs, doing two courses for a side hustle and trying to find work as an actor. I’m represented and getting about one paid job a month (low pay). My family don’t understand why I don’t spen…

I’ve wanted to act since I was 4-years- old. I fell in love with the occupation but after my parents divorced, my life changed significantly. I experienced a lot of physical, emotional, and mental abuse. To say the least, I took on a lot of self-doubt and insecurities at a very young age. Now I’m 24, almost 25 and whil…

So in movies, all the actions that happen, dates, fights, touching (physical acts) are they all scripted as well or do the actors just have to anticipate what to do for their characters? I’ve just been wondering how it works when it comes to any type of action the actors do.

I think I’m a pretty attractive guy and I’d like to do acting. I’m 18 years old and I don’t have a dollar to my name though. I wanna be like a Robert deniro type actor in the business and try my hand in it. Not saying I’ll be as good but just in case remember the name Vance Torres-Miller. I think that my unique name wi…

I'm really curious to know cause they're greater than that top 25% of actors of course so they're kind of well known and their not an average actor (those salaries are $60,000 and $40,000 respectively) but they're not A-List movie stars. Or what kind of profile do they have if they earn $240,000 to $300,000 every year?…

Hey everyone, never posted in this sub before so I hope this is okay. Everyone here seems super helpful and genuine so I wanted to get some input from anyone and everyone who has something to say. So I'm an actor at heart, it's the only thing I know will fulfill me in life. However, I have a chronically low self esteem…

Hey everyone! I've recently taken to portrait work for my fellow performers. It kind of started in order to make quality headshots for actors without making the price exorbitant to the point its often debilitating (especially to students). If anyone here needs some headshots done I'll get them done up…

LA actor. Just signed with a new commercial agent earlier this week. A few days later I got a call saying that I have an in person - 3rd callback/chemistry read - for a series that I’ve been auditioning for, for the last month, later next week. It’s an in person audition and mid day. I’m self repped theatrically. Would…

Hello! I've been a voice actor for a long time and have been subsisting with a subpar setup- it's served me well, but I think a little polish could help me all around. I get all kinds of responses but people respond pretty negatively to me. Always trying to give me their opinion on it. The most recent ones I heard were “That’s not a job until you’re famous” or “It’s pretty inconsistent, isn’t it?”

Do these actors stay away from roles like that? Obviously Lindsey Lohan wouldn’t take on a role like that right? Lol. Zendaya playing Rue works really well and she has no history of abuse. But is there an actor in the gray zone that would fit?

I’m (23F) a young actress and am about to get my first professional headshots taken. Most photographers charge by looks so how should I go about styling my hair. I feel like Broadway is much more exclusive and as a result more competitive. It almost feels like a pedigree. I know this question might sound weird, especially because voice acting is an art form that doesn’t require the actor to show their face, but I think it’s important to have a voice actor that matches the character and can understand them better.
