More Ways to Lay Out Your Name, Photo and Links

Two further layouts are live in the signature builder, bringing the set to six.

Grid Cells

Contact details arranged in two columns of small labeled cells rather than a run of lines. Agent in one, manager in another, phone, email, website, union.

This is the answer to a specific and common problem. An actor with an agent, a manager, a voice agent in another market and their own direct line has six things to communicate, and as a stacked list that is six lines of small text that nobody reads. In a grid it is scannable, and a reader looking specifically for the agent finds it immediately.

It is the right choice if you have four or more contact routes. With two, it looks empty.

Accent Bar

A single vertical stroke of color down the left edge, name and details to the right of it, photograph optional.

The bar takes your color from your website settings, so if you have chosen a scheme there, your signature matches without you setting it twice. This is the closest thing in the set to a piece of visual branding, and it is deliberately the only colored element: one stroke reads as considered, three colors read as a template.

If you have not picked a color, it defaults to a near-black that works on any background. Choosing one is covered in pick your own color scheme.

Dark mode, briefly

Both layouts were built after we tested the existing four in dark mode and found the usual problem: a signature designed on white becomes a white rectangle floating in a dark message. Colors here are chosen to hold up either way, and the photograph is not given a white background it does not need.

Still to come

Portrait Right and Monogram complete the set. Before that, Ruled Contact and Ruled Classic are worth a look if you want something plainer.
